Promising Career Cut Short by Scooter Crash
PGA Tour Statement Confirms Passing
Grayson Murray, a two-time PGA Tour winner, has passed away at the age of 30. Murray's promising career was tragically cut short by a serious scooter crash in Bermuda earlier this week. The PGA Tour confirmed Murray's death Saturday morning.
"The PGA Tour is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Grayson Murray," PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan said in a statement. "Grayson was a rising star in our game, and his talent and passion for the sport were evident to all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time."
Murray withdrew from the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas on Friday due to injuries sustained in the crash. The accident occurred when the scooter he was riding collided head-on with a car.
Murray had a promising career ahead of him, having won twice on the PGA Tour. He won the Barracuda Championship in 2020 and the Rocket Mortgage Classic in 2022. He was also a member of the United States team that won the Presidents Cup in 2022.
Murray's death is a tragic loss for the PGA Tour and the golf world. He was a talented player with a bright future, and he will be deeply missed.
